RATTLE IN A RED COAT?: Napoleonic War officers

The 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo was the initial inspiration for this talk.  Taking the same premise as my WW1 pilots talks I began to explore in eyewitness accounts just what the Napoleonic War officers were actually like.  They were not just “rattles” in red coats but highly professional and skilled men although the social graces also formed part of their duties at times.
